About Keith Colby
When Traditional Approaches Stop Working, I Help You Find What's Missing
For 30 years, I've specialized in the complex, stubborn problems that often require an integrative approach—chronic pain that persists despite treatment, plateaus that resist conventional methods, and limitations that need a multi-system perspective.
Early in my career, I kept seeing the same pattern: people who did everything "right" still struggled. They worked with excellent trainers and top physical therapists, followed perfect programs, yet they'd hit walls—persistent pain despite months of treatment, strength gains that plateaued, or injuries that kept returning.
I became curious about why. That question led me to study with world-class practitioners across multiple disciplines and discover something important: getting results often require addressing the mental patterns of the mind, physical body AND your energetic system.
What I Actually Do
Think of your body like a house. Most practitioners specialize deeply in one area—the plumbing (physical therapy), the electrical (neurology), or the foundation (strength training). Each brings valuable expertise. I've chosen a different path: like a general contractor, I've trained across multiple disciplines to understand how all the systems work together.
In practice, this means:
For pain: If you have persistent knee pain, I might discover it's connected to a weakness in your liver meridian (your body's energy pathways). I'll use specific movement patterns combined with energy corrections to restore that connection. Most people feel a shift in the first session.
For performance plateaus: If your squat won't increase despite perfect form, I'll assess whether your nervous system is properly communicating with your muscles, check for energy blocks limiting power output, and address the actual bottleneck—not just add more volume.
For injury recovery: Rather than only strengthening the injured area, I'll identify why your body compensated in the first place—often finding energetic imbalances that led to the injury pattern.
My Background & Training
I hold an Exercise Science degree and have earned credentials most practitioners spend their entire career pursuing:
Fellow of Applied Functional Science (Gray Institute)
Applied Movement Neurology (AMN Academy)
Z-Health Performance
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
Certified Personal Trainer
Advanced training in Chinese energy medicine and mind-body integration
I've been named one of "America's Top 100 Personal Trainers" by Men's Journal Magazine, won "Best Fitness Instructor" by Readers Choice, and been featured in the Boston Herald.
But credentials only tell part of the story. What matters is that I've spent three decades integrating these disciplines—studying how your mind and energy patterns affect movement, how brain-body connection influences strength, and how addressing root causes creates relief.
Why This Approach Gets Different Results
Specialization is valuable—it allows practitioners to develop deep expertise in their field. However, it can sometimes create blind spots when issues cross multiple systems.
I spent 30 years learning how everything connects. When you work with me, you're getting a synthesis of multiple disciplines applied to your specific situation.
It's like the difference between consulting specialists who each examine one system versus having someone who can assess how your heart, lungs, circulation, and nervous system work together. The integrated view often reveals solutions that aren't visible from a single perspective.
Who I Work With
For Mind-Body Healing: You've tried conventional treatments but still experience persistent pain, health issues, or feel stuck. You're open-minded, ready to explore root causes, and willing to take an active role in your healing.
For Movement & Strength Training: You're motivated to build a stronger, more capable body and committed to consistency. You want results that go deeper than conventional training provides.
Whether you're an athlete seeking a competitive edge, recovering from injury, or simply want to feel better in daily life, my integrated approach provides tools and results that single-discipline practitioners can't offer.
